A strategic approach to weed management includes eradication of potential weed species before they become major problems where the only management options are containment or ongoing control—but which species should and can be eradicated? In this article, we describe a framework of quantitative methods to identify “sleeper weeds” for which eradication is a desirable and feasible strategy.
